'Suicidal' Woman Accused of Stabbing Redlands PD Officer with Pocket Knife

The incident occurred at a South Coast Community Services facility in the 700 block of Nevada Street, according to Redlands police and inmate records.

A Mentone woman described as "suicidal" allegedly stabbed a Redlands police officer in the leg with a pocket knife Tuesday at a medical facility on Nevada Street, police announced Saturday Sept. 1.

Susan Kimberly Reynolds Hollon, 34, of Mentone was arrested and booked on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon on a police officer, according to inmate records.

Hollon was released on her own recognizance early Thursday Aug. 30, according to inmate records. She did not have a court appearance scheduled.

Police responded to a call of a suicidal woman at 721 Nevada St., Suite 209, about 6 p.m. Tuesday Aug. 28, according to police and inmate records. A South Coast Community Services facility is at the same address.

"When they arrived, officers made contact with the woman who continued to be uncooperative," a police statement issued Sept. 1 said. "As officers attempted to take her into custody she became combative. During the struggle the woman used a pocket knife to stab one of the officers in the leg."

The injured police officer was transported to Loma Linda University Medical Center where he was treated and released the same day, according to the statement.

Police indicated in their statement they intended to pursue additional charges of attempted murder and making criminal threats. Inmate records Saturday showed Hollon was booked on a single charge of assault with a deadly weapon on a police officer.

South Coast Community Services is billed as "committed to the healing, growth, and restoration of children, youth, adults, and their families."
