Suspect Arrested in Redlands Bar Shooting

A 22-year-old man was arrested in unincorporated San Bernardino County early Thursday morning.

Authorities arrested a 22-year-old man Thursday morning in connection with the Nov. 19 shooting outside a downtown Redlands bar that killed one man and wounded two others, according to Redlands Police.

Randy Ortis was arrested by Redlands and San Bernardino police departments and the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department in the 5500 block of Bonnie Street in unincorporated San Bernardino County. A gun believed to be the murder weapon was recovered at the scene, said Carl Baker, Redlands Police public information officer.

Ortis could face one count of murder and two counts of attempted murder in the attack, which happened about 1:30 a.m. outside Charlie Jewell's at 1 State St. in downtown Redlands. A fight inside the bar was moved outside by security, and ended in a shooting that killed Kruze Levusi Kuaea, 22, of Calimesa, and left two others men seriously. Both were expected to survive.
