Suspects Sought in San Bernardino-Area Rape, Robbery

Two men assaulted and then robbed a woman near San Bernardino International Airport.

Deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department's Central Station are investigating a rape and robbery incident that happened overnight.

Two men attacked and sexually assaulted a woman before taking off with items from her purse in the unincorporated neighborhood around San Bernardino International Airport.

The woman left her apartment about 1:30 a.m. after an argument with her boyfriend, according to a Sheriff's Department news release. Soon after, the woman noticed she was being followed by the two suspects at Court and Pedley streets.

One of the suspects asked the victim for "a light," and she tried to walk away and avoid the two. But the two suspects grabbed her and pushed the victim into the wash area at Pine Street and Little Third.

According to the police report, one of the suspects hit the woman in the face, and then was sexually assaulted by both suspects. The two suspects then took items from the woman's purse and left the scene going eastbound on Little Third, heading toward Whitlock.

Suspect No. 1 is described as a 20- to 23-year-old Latino male, about 5-foot-7, 250 pounds with black hair. Suspect No. 2 is a described as a 17-year-old Latino male, 5-foot-7, 140 to 160 pounds with black hair. Suspect No. 2 was referred to as "Marco" by Suspect No. 1.
