Teen Sought in Connection with Home-Invasion Style Robbery of 90-year-old

Two teen boys are accused of hitting and robbing a 90-year-old woman in her own home. Deputies are now working to track down one who is still at large.

San Bernardino County Sheriff’s officials are looking for a teen who robbed a 90-year-old woman in her own home.

The incident was reported at 10:46 a.m. July 18 in the 6700 block of Elm Avenue in San Bernardino. According to deputies, the victim reported that two Hispanic males knocked on her front door. When they asked her if they could check her backyard for a lost dog she gave her permission, officials said.

Once in the backyard the duo attacked the victim, pulling a shirt over her head and punching her to keep her quiet, officials said. They tied her hands behind her back and took her inside the home where they demanded money, officials said.

The men stole an undisclosed amount of cash and property and then fled in the woman’s Toyota Corolla, officials said. The car was later found abandoned near the home.

Deputies said the 90-year-old victim was able to walk over to her neighbor’s residence to ask for help.

Edwardo Adan May, 18, of San Bernardino, has since been arrested in connection with the robbery. He was booked at Central Detention Center and is being held without bail.

The second suspect has been identified as 18-year-old, Andrew Landeros. Detectives have secured a $500,000 arrest warrant and Landeros also has a no bail juvenile warrant. Landeros may be hiding in the San Bernardino or Fontana areas. But he could be anywhere.

Officials ask anyone with information is asked to call Detective A. Rodriguez or Detective J. Ruiz or SBSD Central Station at (909) 387-3545.
