Three Arrested For DUI During Sobriety Checkpoint
Checkpoints will likely be highly visible again as New Year's Eve approaches this weekend.
Three people were arrested in Redlands for driving under the influence during a grant-funded weekend sobriety checkpoint, the Redlands Police Department said in a news release.
One-hundred fifty nine vehicles passed through the checkpoint in the eastbound lanes of Redlands Boulevard at Sixth Street between 10 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 10, and 4 a.m. the following day.
In addition to the DUI arrests, three drivers were cited for driving with suspended licenses and one for driving with an expired license.

DUI Checkpoints along with regularly scheduled high visibility DUI enforcement serve as a proven deterrent with the goal of removing impaired drivers and creating heightened awareness of the dangers of driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol.
Funding for this operation was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
