Tragic Accident Takes Toddler's Life

A 15-month-old boy is accidentally run over by a car driven by a family member.

Redlands Police are investigating a tragic accident that has left a 15-month-old child dead and a Redlands family grieving.

The accident happened about 8 a.m. Thursday. Police officials said the toddler had somehow gotten too close to a vehicle driven by a family member when he was run over. The driver had been leaving the child’s home in the 300 block of South Eureka Street at the time, said Carl Baker, public information officer with the Redlands Police Department.

“It was a horrible, tragic accident,” Baker said. “The driver thought the boy was safe and away from the car.”
