Two Collisions Blocking Traffic Along Newport Avenue
While officers were investigating one crash, a second one occurred nearby.
Two collisions within a few feet of each other tied up traffic on Newport Avenue and Barton Road.
About 5:45 p.m., officials responded to a collision at Newport and Barton, near the US Post Office.
Officers reported to dispatchers that four vehicles had collided. About 10 minutes into the officers investigation into that crash, another one occurred near the first, officials said.

No major injuries were reported. Several tow trucks were called to the scene.
