Two Homes Damaged in Redlands Blaze
Firefighters needed 45 minutes to control a fire between two homes, with live power lines becoming an issue.
Two homes and a car were damaged in a fire in Redlands on Tuesday night.
The Redlands Fire Department responded to a call of a vegetation fire at East Sunset Drive South and Burns Lane at 5:13 p.m., according to a news release.
When firefighters arrived on the scene, they reported that the two homes and several large trees between the homes were on fire. Live power lines dropped during the incident. Neighbors helped to extinguish a convertible BMW that was set ablaze by an ember a block away.

Four engines, one ladder truck, a medic squad and a battalion chief responded to the scene, and were able to get the fire under control after 45 minutes.
No one was injured. Officials estimate the damage to the two homes and the car to be $175,000. Investigators are investigating the cuase.
