Two People Arrested in Stolen Vehicle

Police track the down suspects and the vehicle while investigating a burglary at a fitness club.

Redlands Police arrested two people found in a stolen car shortly after authorities say they burglarized a vehicle in a fitness center parking lot.

Police were called to a burglary at the LA Fitness at 1035 Parkford Drive just before 4:30 p.m. Saturday. Officers quickly located a Honda Prelude near the scene and pulled it over at the intersection of Highland Avenue and Redlands Boulevard.

The Honda had been reported stolen two hours earlier out of Fontana. Inside, officers said they found items stolen in the LA Fitness burglary as well as additional stolen property.

The driver, 30-year-old Christopher James Reedy, of Fontana, was arrested on suspicion of auto theft, burglary, possession of stolen property and a parole violation. The passenger, 29-year-old Melissa Cathleen Buckridge, of Yucaipa, was arrested on suspicion of burglary and possession of stolen property.

Police are attempting to identify the owners of the additional stolen property. Authorities ask anyone with additional information is asked to contact Officer Patrick Estrada or Redlands Police Dispatch at (909) 798-7681. Anonymous tips can be provided by texting 274637 using the keyword “REDTIP.”
