UPDATE: Trapped Patient Rescued in Reche Canyon South of Loma Linda

The single-vehicle crash was reported at 5:39 p.m. Thursday Sept. 6 in the area of Reche Vista Drive and Canyon Ranch Road, a Cal Fire spokeswoman said.

Update 7:27 p.m. A person who was trapped in a vehicle that dropped about 40 feet Thursday in Reche Canyon was rescued and transported to a hospital with moderate injuries, a Cal Fire spokeswoman said in an update after 7 p.m.

Posted 6:27 p.m. A vehicle went over-the-side, dropped about 40 feet and a patient was trapped Thursday in Reche Canyon south of Loma Linda, according to Cal Fire.

The single-vehicle crash was reported at 5:39 p.m. Thursday Sept. 6 in the area of Reche Vista Drive and Canyon Ranch Road, Melody Hendrickson of Cal Fire said in a statement.

Firefighters, American Medical Response, the California Highway Patrol and Riverside County sheriff's personnel responded, Hendrickson said.

Reche Vista Drive connects to Reche Canyon Road, a popular shortcut between Loma Linda, Colton and Moreno Valley.
