Victims of Handyman's Fraud are Asked to Come Forward

The San Bernardino County District Attorney's Bureau of Investigation have arrested a handyman they say took money from elder residents in exchange for work he did poorly or never even started.

The San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Bureau of Investigation is asking members of the public who may have been defrauded by a handy man currently in custody to contact investigators.

Officials have arrested Arturo Carrillo Lozano on suspicion of elder abuse and theft.

Lozano primarily targeted the elderly, officials said. He would offer to complete odd jobs - construction-type jobs - around their home in exchange for money.

The work he performed was typically either substandard, not completed or in some cases not even started, officials said. But Lozano would take payment and leave regardless, officials said.

District Attorney investigators suspect that Lozano has actively worked throughout the San Bernardino, Riverside and Los Angeles counties.
