A 23-year-old Redlands woman suspected in three area burglaries was arrested when police stopped a car she was driving -- also reported stolen out of Santa Ana, police said Saturday.
Amanda Jasmine Smith, 23, is suspected in burglaries in the 40 block of North Michigan Street and the 40 block of San Gorgonio Drive over the last month, police information officer Carl Baker said.
The 1992 Honda was stopped about 5:30 p.m. on Tennessee Street, near Colton Avenue.
Police through neighborhood contacts identified the suspect as the burglar, Baker said.
Investigators also got hold of surveillance video implicating the suspect; the videos showed the suspect before and after one of the burglaries.
When Smith was stopped, officers found a bag that had been stolen in one of the thefts, Baker said.
Police are attempting to find additional stolen property.
Smith was arrested on suspicion of burglary, possession of stolen property and auto theft.
She remained in custody at the West Valley Detention Center, where bail was set at $50,000, police said.
