A woman was struck by a vehicle and fatally injured Sunday evening on Highway 62 in Yucca Valley, according to the San Bernardino County coroner.
Deputies responded to a 9-1-1 vehicle versus pedestrian call at 8:24 p.m. Aug. 18 in the area of Scarvan Road and the 62, coroner's personnel said in a statement Monday morning.
They found a 56-year-old female resident of Yucca Valley with head trauma and she was confirmed dead of her injuries at 8:32 p.m. Sunday, coroner's personnel said.
"The name of the decedent will be released pending next of kin notification," coroner's personnel said. "An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death."
The San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department was investigating.
