Woman Fatally Injured in Freeway Crash Near 210-215 Junction

A woman was fatally injured Saturday in a crash near the junction of the 210 and 215 freeways, according to the coroner.

Cassandra Ayala, 22, of San Bernardino, was driving a 1997 Toyota Corolla east on the 210 about 2:35 a.m. Aug. 3, when the car left the road near the 215 interchange and struck a concrete wall on West 27th Street, in San Bernardino, coroner's personnel said in a statement.

Paramedics responded and pronounced her dead at the scene, coroner's personnel said. An autopsy was scheduled to determine the cause of death.

The California Highway Patrol was investigating.
