Woman Found Dead in Highland Home, Her Boyfriend is Accused of Murder

Victoria West, 26, of Highland, was reported unresponsive early Sept. 22 in the 6900 block of Elm Avenue, according to the Sheriff's Department.

A woman was found dead in a home early Saturday and her boyfriend was arrested in Highland, north of Redlands and Loma Linda.

Victoria West, 26, of Highland, was reported unresponsive at 3:31 a.m. Sept. 22 in the 6900 block of Elm Avenue, according to the Sheriff's Department.

"Upon arrival, deputies discovered a deceased female lying near the front door of the residence," Sgt. Trevis Newport of the sheriff's Highland Station said in a statement. "Deputies found the circumstances surrounding the female's death to be suspicious."

It was determined West's death was a homicide, Newport said. An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of her death.

"During the course of the investigation, detectives contacted West's boyfriend, James Jackson," Newport said. "Jackson was interviewed regarding the incident, and was later booked at Central Detention Center, in San Bernardino, on charges of P.C. 187(a), P.C. 3056 and an outstanding felony warrant."

James David Jackson, 26, was held Monday without bail, according to inmate records.
