Woman in Small Convertible Injured in Crash, Firefighters do Life Support During Rescue

A woman in a small convertible was injured in a two-vehicle crash Tuesday in Redlands, and firefighters did life support during her rescue, fire officials said.

The crash was reported shortly after 1 p.m. July 9 at Olive Avenue and Norwood Street, west of Center Street, Redlands Fire Chief Jeff Frazier said.

A 30-year-old woman, a resident of Redlands, was pinned inside a two-seat BMW with the soft top up, according to Frazier and a Redlands Fire captain. The driver's side had been pushed in during the crash, and firefighters worked on the woman while she was being extricated.

She sustained minor to moderate lacerations and abrasions to the head, abdominal tenderness, and exhibited concussion type symptoms, firefighters said. She was taken to Loma Linda University Medical Center with stable vital signs during transport.
