YUCAIPA DISPENSARY PROBE: Deputies Find Marijuana Plants in Calimesa Home

Deputies searched a Calimesa home Thursday and discovered more than 150 marijuana plants, 20 pounds of edible marijuana products, and "evidence of concentrated cannabis extraction" in connection with an investigation of Green Oasis Collective locations in Yucaipa and San Bernardino, sheriff's personnel said Friday.

Deputies with the San Bernardino County sheriff's Marijuana Enforcement Team served a warrant at 11 a.m. June 6 at 927 Calimesa Blvd., according to a news release. In addition to the marijuana, deputies found patient files, business documents and equipment from the Yucaipa and San Bernardino dispensaries, sheriff's personnel said.

"Investigators believe this home was used specifically to produce and package marijuana products to be sold at the dispensaries," deputies said. "There was evidence of an electrical bypass and Edison officials estimated $2,000. A month of electrical theft over a seven month period."

The tenant of the Calimesa home, identified as Alfredo Villa, 29, was located at another residence in Yucaipa, where he was arrested, deputies said.

Villa was booked at Smith Correctional Facility in Banning on suspicion of utility theft and cultivation of marijuana, according to Riverside County inmate records. Villa was held Friday morning in Banning on bail totaling $40,000.
