Aguilar Campaign Touts Raising $301K for Congressional Run

Redlands Mayor Pete Aguilar's congressional campaign on Tuesday touted raising $301,000 in the second quarter of 2013 for his repeat run at California's 31st District.

Aguilar's campaign also boasted  having $289,000 cash on hand.

"Of the total number of individual donors, 75 percent donated $100 or less – a sign of strong grassroots support for Aguilar," the mayor's congressional campaign staff said.

"I am very humbled by the outpouring of early support from people throughout San Bernardino County," Aguilar said in a statement.

"The message to me has been clear. People are fed up with business as usual in Washington and want a new leader in Congress who will put middle-class families above partisan politics," Aguilar said.

Aguilar last month claimed endorsements from a dozen Democratic members of Congress from California, according to his campaign.
