Caltrans Road Work Sked on Lugonia Ave and Mentone Boulevard This Week

The work is scheduled 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday July 16 and Tuesday July 17 in Redlands, and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday July 18 and Thursday July 19 in Mentone, according to Caltrans.

Caltrans is planning road work this week that will require lane closures on Lugonia Avenue in Redlands and Mentone Boulevard in Mentone beginning Monday, according to a city spokesman.

All the work is within Caltrans right-of-way on State Route 38, Redlands spokesman Carl Baker said.

The work involves "slurry seals" on the 38 in Redlands and Mentone, Caltrans District 8 spokeswoman Shelli Lombardo said.

The work is scheduled 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday and Tuesday in Redlands, and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday in Mentone, Lombardo said.

Caltrans released the following schedule:

- On Monday July 16, Caltrans will close westbound lanes from Dearborn to Church, with a detour available on San Bernardino Avenue.

- On Tuesday July 17, Caltrans will close eastbound lanes from Church to Dearborn, with a detour on San Bernardino Avenue.

- On Wednesday July 18, "we will be flagging" westbound traffic from Amethyst to Crafton, Lombardo said.

- On Thursday July 19, "we will be flagging" eastbound traffic from Crafton to Amethyst, Lombardo said.

"It is important to note that all vehicles must not be parked on the street between these times or they will be towed," Lombardo said. "Temporary 'No Parking' signs are in place at these locations with posted dates and times."

If you want to know what "sustainablity" is really about, come hear Rosa Koire at RedlandsRead More Townhall on May 23, 6:30 pm at the American Legion Hall, 814 W. Colton Avenue. "Sustainability" is UN Agenda 21.

Usually I'd start with how teachers should be paid in line with their students grades, but for nowRead More I'll just suggest going to the .99 cent stores. You can get everything from 100 packs of #2 pencils to college ruled notebooks and binders, to pens and highlighters. We go there weekly and send boxes of school supplies, crayons and coloring books to our troops in Afghanistan to help them befriend the locals. The biggest score is cans of party string that usually go for $5. They spray it into a room and the streamers will hang on any tripwires without setting off the bomb. And try asking the store manager if corporate might be willing to throw in 2 for the price of one or a bakers dozen on highly stocked items if you can get several other teaches to also shop there. It never hurts to ask.
