Has Newt Gingrich Gone Too Far?

You tell us Patch readers. As Florida's Republican voters head to the polls, Gingrich has put out a robo-call that accuses Mitt Romney, the frontrunner in that primary, of denying kosher food to holocaust survivors.

Political ads are still bombarding Florida’s Republican voters even as they prepare to head out to the polls for today’s primary.

Newt Gingrich’s camp is creating a stir thanks to a robo-call in which he accuses former Massachusetts governor and frontrunner Mitt Romney of denying holocaust survivors kosher food.

According to the Washington Post, the call says Romney “vetoed a bill paying for kosher food for our seniors in nursing homes -- Holocaust survivors, who for the first time, were forced to eat non-kosher, because Romney thought $5 was too much to pay for our grandparents to eat kosher.”

Is it possible that these strange and contentious campaigns are getting worse? You tell us.

Most Americans thought when Newt left the House in disgrace, had 84 ethic violations and a $300,000 fine, this corrupt, pompous, egotistical Washington insider would disappear. He did for a short while but reappeared again with an office on K Street peddling influence for Freddy Mac an the healthcare insurance industry. Has he gone too far? Yes he goes too far in everything. Those who served with him say he is off the wall, takes no advice from others, has to be the smartest guy in the room, all his actions are too far. Some of the fire breathing self righteous bible thumping religious fanatics and tea bagging lunatics like his heavy hitting because they believe he is the only one that can carry their hate and anger they have toward Obama to him in debate. What a sad lot of individuals, besides he was stomped in the last two debates.and the only debate he really did anything in was SC. The only thing he did there was feed the crowd red meat(one liner knockout)that particular group of Evangelicals bought it. The American public is on to his game, it will never happen again. So much for the "great debater" self proclaimed. Lets dump this guy before he destroys the nominee to be because of his vendetta . No more votes for this guys insanity.

It looks like a majority of those who have voted feel Newt Gringrich's attack on Romney was below the belt.

Moon base Newt is jealous of Romney- who is way richer, younger, and more moral than viagra chomping creepy old dude ever could achieve. All he has is shock tactics, playing the victim while attacking at the same time. Seriously-- to all you tea party guys out there- young Republicans like me are not going to vote if Gringrich the Grinch gets nominated. hope you guys outnumber the dems, cause if you back this loser you are on your own. the rest of the GOP is sitting out on this one.

We will have to wait until the Koch billionaires tell the party what to think.

Mr. Gringrich is a disgrace to the GOP. The bill in question dates back to 2003, and it was during a time of budget crunching. Instead of the choice to continue funding kosher kitchens in nursing homes, which have to be a completely separate food preparation area from their regular kitchen, it was decided it was more feasible to have kosher food prepared off site and delivered. That part was twisted enough, but what is also being twisted is the notion that every single Jew in an American nursing home is a holocaust survivor. Mr. Gringrich is really scraping the bottom of his moral barrel.

If you want to know what "sustainablity" is really about, come hear Rosa Koire at RedlandsRead More Townhall on May 23, 6:30 pm at the American Legion Hall, 814 W. Colton Avenue. "Sustainability" is UN Agenda 21.

“Sustainability” = UN Agenda 21 = less liberty and less prosperity. One of the bestRead More sources is self-described “liberal democrat,” “feminist,” “lesbian” Rosa Koire and her book “Behind the Green Mask: U.N. Usually I'd start with how teachers should be paid in line with their students grades, but for nowRead More I'll just suggest going to the .99 cent stores. You can get everything from 100 packs of #2 pencils to college ruled notebooks and binders, to pens and highlighters. We go there weekly and send boxes of school supplies, crayons and coloring books to our troops in Afghanistan to help them befriend the locals. The biggest score is cans of party string that usually go for $5. They spray it into a room and the streamers will hang on any tripwires without setting off the bomb. And try asking the store manager if corporate might be willing to throw in 2 for the price of one or a bakers dozen on highly stocked items if you can get several other teaches to also shop there. It never hurts to ask.

I have shopped at Staples for years and have yet gotten a so-called reward. Why the change of heartRead More now? The school supplies are overpriced anyway. I get things really inexpensively at Walmart right before school starts. There is no limit as to how many things one can buy like there is at Staples.
