Today is Last Day to Register to Vote: Online Deadline is Midnight Tonight

The voter registration deadline is for residents of Redlands, Loma Linda, Mentone, Yucaipa, Highland, and the rest of San Bernardino County, according to the registrar.

Anyone who wants to cast a ballot in the Nov. 6 Presidential Election must register to vote by Monday Oct. 22.

"To be eligible to vote in the November 6, 2012, General Election, you must finish and submit your electronic form before midnight Pacific Daylight Time on October 22, 2012," the California Secretary of State website advises.

The voter registration deadline is for residents of Redlands, Loma Linda, Mentone, Yucaipa, Highland, and the rest of San Bernardino County, according to the registrar.

Residents can register to vote by mail, online at the Secretary of State's website at registertovote.ca.gov, or in person at the San Bernardino County Elections Office at 777 East Rialto Ave., San Bernardino.

Registration forms are available at most post offices, libraries, city clerks' offices, and Department of Motor Vehicles locations. A full list is available at www.sbcountyelections.com.

To register to vote, a person must:

- Be a citizen of the United States

- Be at least 18 years old on Election Day, Nov. 6, 2012

- Not be in prison or on parole for the conviction of a felony

Voters who have recently moved to San Bernardino County must re-register to vote, according to the registrar.

Voters who have moved within the county do not need to re-register. However, they should update their addresses with the San Bernardino County Elections Office by filling out an in-county change of address form at www.sbcountyelections.com, according to the registrar.
