Loma Linda Considers Legal Action Against the State

The city is in the midst of a dispute with the state over the dissolution of the Redevelopment Agencies.

Loma Linda’s City Council will hold a special meeting Monday to decide if they want to pursue litigation against the state because of a disagreement over a review process connected with the dissolution of the redevelopment agencies.

The city is midway through a process known as “meet and confer” in which the state exammines assets once under a city’s RDA. Now the city is disputing some of the procedures of the meet and confer, said Konrad Bolowich, assistant city manager with the city.

Bolowich did not detail what the issue was, but said the council will consider if they should pursue legal action Monday. If they do, they will also consider retaining the services of Rutan & Tucker or possibly another legal firm.
