Morongo Golf Club at Tukwet Canyon Reps Tout Grand Re-Opening Oct. 21

A ribbon-cutting ceremony is planned at 5 p.m. Sunday Oct. 21, followed by 'an evening of festivities' including refreshments, live entertainment, door prizes and a champagne toast, organizers said.

Promoters are touting a grand re-opening of Morongo Golf Club at Tukwet Canyon in Beaumont on Sunday Oct. 21.

"Parents, children and members of the community are welcome to join us for a meet-and-greet with Tukwet's professional staff, Tribal Council members, city officials, and Beaumont, Banning & Yucaipa Chamber of Commerce leaders," Tukwet Canyon event coordinator Kristy Hoff said.

The event is free and golf club staff will be on hand to share details of recent improvements, golf programs, memberships, and future plans to rent space for weddings and other occasions, Hoff said.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony is planned at 5 p.m. Sunday Oct. 21, followed by "an evening of festivities" including refreshments, live entertainment, door prizes and a champagne toast, Hoff said.

Tours of the facility, including the pro shop and dining room, will be available, Hoff said.

The Morongo Band of Mission Indians took ownership of the course, formerly known as East Valley Golf Club, in October 2010, according to Tukwet Canyon representatives.

Morongo Golf Club at Tukwet Canyon, at 36211 Champions Drive, is billed as "Home of the Southern California PGA."
