Restaurants, Businesses Offer Tax Day Specials

Many have offers that can garner people free or discounted food or drinks on their social media pages.

Tax day is a day of dread for most people, having to send off their returns to the government.

Many area restaurants feel your pain -- and are trying to ease your burden.

Here's some of the specials you can find out there.

is offering a free appetizer or dessert with the purchase of an entree through Wednesday with a coupon.

is offering a free serving of Shanghai Angus Steak for people who like their Facebook page and print out the coupon.

Hooters will give people who sign up online 20 of their boneless Buffalo wings for $9.99.

Seattle's Best is giving away samples of its products to people who like their Facebook page, and participating stores are giving away samples as well.

Arby's is giving away a coupon for free curly fries to people who like their Facebook page, which will also enter people into a contest to win $5,000.

Sonic locations nationwide (the closest is in Rancho Cucamonga) will extend their "Happy Hour" promotion all day, offering half-price drinks and slushes.

Cinnabon will be giving out two free bites at participating locations from 6 to 8 p.m.

Chevy's Fresh Mex is offering a free taquito to people who like their page on Facebook.

Boston Market is offering a free meal (with purchase of a second meal and drink) with a coupon on their website.

Participating Shakey's Restaurants (not sure if the is one of those, but the one in Rancho Cucamonga is) are offering their Bunch-of-Lunch buffet for only $5.40.

And for those of you who still don't have your taxes done, well, there's still time, and there are free options to file online. The major companies -- Turbo Tax, Jackson Hewitt and H&R Block -- all offer a federal free edition for simple returns. But for those needing more work, or looking for deductions, you'll need to purchase the services. Jackson Hewitt has offices inside of , while  H&R Block has offices in and .
