The San Bernardino County Elections Office is promoting National Voter Registration Day, Tuesday Sept. 25.

The Secretary of State has launched a new online voter registration system at RegisterToVote.ca.gov, Felisa Cardona of the elections office said in an announcement distributed Saturday.

"When you register online, the system will search the Department of Motor Vehicles database for your California driver license number, date of birth, and last four digits of your social security number," the announcement said.

"If your information is found, an electronic image of your DMV signature will be added to your voter registration. If there is no signature on file with DMV, you will just click 'print,' sign the paper application, and mail it to the San Bernardino Elections Office," the announcement said.

Residents may also register in person at the same address. For more information call (909) 387-8300 or visit www.sbcountyelections.com.
