Shopping Center, Business Park Plans

The City of Redlands Environmental Review Committee meets 9 a.m. Monday Aug. 20 at 35 Cajon St.

Plans for a shopping center and a business park are on the City of Redlands Environmental Review Committee agenda for a Monday morning meeting.

Project planner Manuel Baeza and applicant Lewis Retail Centers hope to develop a 76,984-square-foot shopping center that will include a supermarket, a drug store with drive-thru pharmacy, a fast food restaurant and other shop space, at the northwest corner of Lugonia and Wabash, according to the committee agenda.

Recommendations from the Environmental Review Committee to the city Planning Commission on this project are listed on the agenda as old business.

In new business, the committee will consider a business park at Nevada Street and Redlands Boulevard backed by applicant S & A Properties and project planner Chris Boatman.

The Environmental Review Committee will consider a recommendation to the Planning Commission to revise site design for an approved 135,570-square-foot business park with eight buildings on 9.3 acres, according to the agenda.

Revisions include replacing two buildings with more parking to accommodate medical use in five of six buildings, enclosing a rear driveway loading area, and building a new driveway entrance from Redlands Boulevard through an adjacent two-acre site, according to the agenda.

The revisions increase the project site area to 11.3 acres.

There will be a public comment period. A special meeting of the committee is planned Aug. 27.
