Obama/Panetta's third Benghazi story may become re-election campaign's death knell.

It looks like the Obama administration has finally lied themselves into a corner over the deaths of our Ambassador and (former) Navy Seals in Benghazi Libya. In the third story within the sequence, Secretary Panetta (seated next to a Joint Chief) clearly stated the reason for not sending the repeatedly pleaded for backup was the unknown factor of what was happening in and around the actionable areas.

The funny thing about Panetta’s statement is that we now know there were not one but two Predator drones streaming live video back to the Pentagon, several CIA operational centers as well as the White House. And again like the prior “Hollywood Video” and “they weren’t really terrorists” assertions, story number three leaves us with even more questions than the last two. The one thing a former Navy Seal attached to the CIA in Libya would know is how many Predator drones are airborne within his operational area. And thus, whether the drone he was watching the live feed from of a firefight less than a mile away was armed and with what ordinance.

One part of the story that we know is fact is that the Ambassador’s compound was assaulted with a large caliber mortar. And that such a mortar requires secure anchoring to the ground or a heavy flatbed vehicle in order to remain in place for the critical computations of aiming to be accurate. Another fact is that two Seals and a CIA Officer made their way to rooftops within the compound. There is still a question of whom, but one of the three gave up his position in order to target the enemy mortar with a tactical laser while again and again calling for help. This is where Panetta’s and Obama’s latest version of why they left our people to die hits the proverbial brick wall.

One has to ask why with no aircraft (other than the drones overhead), any person in such a situation would give up their position to laze a target? That is unless they knew or believed at least one of the drones was armed with standard laser guided Hellfire or other missiles. In any case the first drone was running out of fuel, which is why the second drone was called in. Given the “pucker factor” any sign of a Predator drone evokes within the Jihadist mind, a drone simply buzzing the compound and perimeter would have provided our people with a much needed tactical distraction and advantage. One also has to wonder why with a lazed enemy mortar position, the thought of slamming a nearly out of fuel drone into the enemy’s mortar never occurred to anyone watching the live feed.  Or did it?  We may never know because all three men were killed by mortar fire soon after.

Now here’s where the brick wall comes in. If either of the drones were armed, why were they not used to provide tactical support? Is not the whole point of the drone program to go places and do things rather than sending in American troops… So why not use them, or at least the one running out of fuel to take out the lazed enemy mortar?

On the 10/28 Fox News Sunday hosted by Chris Wallace, a Democrat U.S. Congressman and Obama spokesman was asked directly if the drones were armed?  And if so, why were they not used to answer the SEAL’s repeated calls for support? The Congressman’s eyes, first reflecting his panic, answered that he didn’t know and that such information potentially came under the heading of national security… the standard mantra for anything the Obama camp doesn’t want to become publicly known. To his credit Chris Wallace pressed the question of how whether the drones were armed could possibly be a matter of national security.  Again the Congressman dodged the question stating that everyone needs to wait until November 15th when the Obama appointed investigating committee is due to present their findings.  Which of course would be long after the November 6th election.

The only thing worse than the repeated lies and misdirection over how and why four American heroes needlessly died at the hands of an enemy the President, Secretary of State, Secretary of Defense and their immediate administrations long knew might be coming… Is the outright lack of coverage and cover given President Obama by the main stream press!

It has been more than two months since the 9/11 Embassy attack and that little thing known as “THE TRUTH” has yet to be brought before the American public by any news media other than Fox News. Where is the outrage that would befall any Republican administration under the same conditions? Where is the righteous indignation of a Woodward & Bernstein? Is the reason we all must wait until November 15th  that American VOTERS can’t handle the TRUTH?

Or, that the truth of how four brave Americans were left to die would become the death knell for the re-election of Barack Obama. Not to mention how it would forever change Obama’s legacy as the first Black President, to the legacy of the first American President to turn his back on our people under fire, for the sole purpose of political cover.
