Baseball, Breakfast Highlight Redlands Baseball/Softball Opening Day

The Redlands Benchwarmers, who support sports in the community, made breakfast for about 200 youth baseball players on Opening Day last weekend.

Their group may be called “Benchwarmers,” but they are certainly All-Stars when it comes to supporting local sports in Redlands.

Last weekend, the all-volunteer organization provided a pancake breakfast for more than 200 youth baseball players and their families at Opening Day.

The group hosts several fundraisers throughout the year, with 100 percent of the profits going to support high school and youth sports in the Redlands Unified School District.

You can support the Benchwarmer’s efforts by participating in their 29th Annual Redlands Benchwarmers Golf Tournament, Friday, June 8 at the Yucaipa Valley Golf Course. Dinner and a banquet will follow at Mill Creek Cattle Co. in Mentone. The cost is $125 per golfer, which includes golf, lunch, a BBQ dinner and a pair of Foot Joy golf shoes.
