Global Champion Trojan Hampsters Lauded at Redlands Council Meeting

Six members of the group, which is comprised of 6th graders from Cope and Moore middle schools, were recognized Tuesday evening in council chambers on Cajon Street.

Members of the state and global champion Trojan Hampsters were recognized Tuesday night at a council meeting in Redlands.

The Trojan Hampsters are a group of 6th graders from Cope and Moore middle schools who traveled earlier this year in Destination ImagiNation competitions in Clovis, Calif., and Knoxville, Tenn., where they took first place trophies for their age group in both contests.

An adult representative for the team Tuesday night showed a video of the champions' efforts and they accepted recognition from Redlands Mayor Pete Aguilar.
