Loma Linda Academy Touts Lecture on Biblical Creation, Challenge to Evolution

Prof. Andy C. McIntosh of the University of Leeds 'gave a well-reasoned, convincing account of Biblical creation to Loma Linda Academy students,' school officials said.

Officials at the Seventh-day Adventist Loma Linda Academy are touting a lecture by a scientist from Leeds, England, who spoke Tuesday about Biblical creation and "challenged the paradigm of evolution."

According to the school's website, Prof. Andy C. McIntosh of the University of Leeds "gave a well-reasoned, convincing account of Biblical creation to Loma Linda Academy students in the LLA Heritage Room on March 12, 2013."

McIntosh lectured on the aerodynamics of flight, the laws of thermodynamics, the fossil record and he challenged the paradigm of evolution, according to Loma Linda Academy officials.

In addition to lecturing at Loma Linda Academy, McIntosh spoke at Loma Linda University and the Loma Linda University Church, school officials said.

McIntosh, has earned multiple doctorates and degrees, and he is billed as "Professor of Thermodynamics and Combustion Theory, Energy and Technology Initiative, in the School of Process, Environmental and Materials Engineering at the University of Leeds, England," Loma Linda Academy officials said.

"He is a Bible-adhering Christian who lectures internationally in universities to teachers and students in the sciences, and in churches, on the relationship of creation with modern science," school officials said.

Loma Linda Academy is a Seventh-day Adventist college preparatory school, established in 1906. Total enrollment for 2011 school year began with 1,318 students - 626 at the elementary, 228 at the junior high and 464 at the high school, according to school officials.

I pray that your spiritual eyes will be opened to the fact that JESUS paid the price for our salvation.

An exhibit on evolution is on display at the Bowers Museum in Santa Ana. The exhibit features the 3.2 million year old skeletal remains of "Lucy". Lucy's discovery in Ethiopia provides a clue to the evolutionary link between humans and ape. Lucy's pelvic structured allowed for upright walking yet from the waist up the features are more ape like. Perhaps the students need to visit the exhibit so they understand more about evolution and scientific discovery.

The argument that Creation and Science cant co-mingle is something contrived by the establishment in academia, culture, and atheists. Sadly this is intellectual food for many , patch readers using terms like "stupid" and that Creation is an offense to scientific discovery. Attacking Creation serves no scientific purpose, instead I can't guess the motivation - but I believe people feel threatened by something they have no experience in or they have some other agenda. As a scientist, each day I am amazed by the hand of God in the wonder I explore and research- . If I see the World this way, condemn me if you will, it is because, as native people's belief , the spiritual life (something not understood by the narrow minded) represents for me at least 50% of human experience. As a scientist I remain open to all ideas including ideas about God - which science has only begun to scratch the surface for study - witness CERN's discovery of evidence of a "God particle" in recent days. Intellectuals should remain open and allow the man a respected scientist - to let him have his voice and listen to it before condemning his views. argue strongly against the literal interpretation of Creation, but there is also an allegorical interpretation, which considering that the Genesis was not written for interpretation by modern and atheist soccer moms educated by Dr. Drew, instead written 2000 years ago - the story is not far off from what modern physicists and cosmologists are discovering.
