Loma Linda University Health officials are planning to host the Speaking of Women's Health Conference this Friday in Ontario.
Organizers expect more than a thousand women to attend the event,a university spokeswoman said.
The theme for the conference is "Feed the Appetite, Nourish the Soul," Briana Pastorino of Loma Linda University said.
"There will be free health screenings, cooking demos, bra fittings, makeup demonstrations, and much more for women to take charge of their health," Pastorino said in an announcement.
"Be strong, Be healthy and Be in charge" is the new motto for today's active woman, Pastorino said.
The event is scheduled 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday Nov. 16 at Ontario Convention Center, 2000 Convention Center Way in Ontario.
The morning keynote speaker is expected to be Elli Kaye, best-selling author of 14 books, including "The Sixty Minute Money Workout," Pastorino said. The scheduled luncheon speaker is Amy Finley on "How to Eat a Small Country."
"Women are becoming more active in the decisions they make that will affect their health and the health of their families, and this conference will help guide them to be successful in doing that," Pastorino said.
