GALLERY: Redlands East Valley Seniors, Families Proud for Big Moment - and Beyond

Update 8:51 p.m. Historic Redlands Bowl was adorned in a sea of red and white Wednesday evening for Redlands East Valley Class of 2013's graduation ceremonies, as hundreds of REV seniors, families and loved ones celebrated their moment.

Redlands East Valley counselor Joe Gianni estimated 550 Wildcat seniors were graduating Wednesday evening.

Hundreds of Redlands East Valley seniors, their families and friends were converging Wednesday afternoon at the historic Redlands Bowl for the REV Class of 2013's graduation ceremonies.

Tyler Short, 18, came with his mother, Sharon Short of Redlands, and his grandfather, Clayton Manuel of Banning.

Tyler said he has short-term and long-term plans. He recently earned his EMT certification at Chaffey College in Rancho Cucamonga, and he's applied for an emergency tech job to work in Loma Linda University Medical Center's ER.

Tyler said he is also waiting to hear from the U.S. Navy about becoming a paramedic
corpsman. After completing military service, Tyler said he hopes to return to school to become a registered nurse.

He said he's been accepted to a RN prerequisite program at La Sierra University in Riverside, and he hopes to complete his RN studies at Loma Linda University.
