Four Redlands Schools Earn Volleyball Playoff Berth

Citrus Valley is the only local school to earn a first-round home game in the Ford CIF-Southern Section Championships.

All three of Redlands public schools earned spots in the Ford CIF-Southern Section volleyball championships, according to brackets released Saturday.

All first round games are scheduled for Tuesday, with the championship games scheduled for Nov. 18-19 at Cypress College.

Redlands East Valley, which finished as the No. 2 seed from the Citrus Belt League, will open the Division 1A playoffs at Anaheim Canyon -- the Century League's No. 2 team.

Meanwhile, Redlands, which earned the league's No. 3 seed, will head west to face Upland -- the No. 2 seed from the Baseline League in Division 1A.

In Division 3A, Citrus Valley -- which earned the second seed from the Mountain Valley League -- will play host to Brentwood, the No. 3 team from the Alpha League.

Redlands Adventist also earned a spot in the Division 5AA bracket. The Bulldogs, who finished fourth in the Victory League, will travel to Acton to play Vasquez, the top team from the Desert Mountain League.

Brackets for boys water polo will be released Sunday, and girls tennis and eight-man football brackets will be released Monday.
