Loma Linda Academy, Redlands High Basketball Poised For A CIF Playoff Run

The Roadrunners girls are at home, the boys are on the road in the first round of the CIF Division 5AA playoffs.

Loma Linda Academy’s girls basketball team will begin the CIF-Southern Section 5AA Division playoffs at home, it was announced Sunday. The Roadrunners, who tied for second place in the Ambassador League this season, will play host to Campbell Hall on Thursday at 7 p.m. Campbell Hall is seeded sixth in the division after a third place finish in the Alpha League, which included Windward (No. 1 seed in the 4AA Division) and Sierra Canyon (No. 6 seed in 4AA).

The boys team from Loma Linda Academy, fourth place finishers in the Ambassador League, will begin the 5AA playoffs Wednesday at 7 p.m. at 13th-seeded St. Genevieve from Panorama City.

Redlands High School’s girls team earned a first-round home game in the 1A playoffs on Thursday at 7 PM. The Terriers, second place finishers in the Citrus Belt League, play host to 12th-seeded Riverside Poly.

The Redlands boys open the 1AA playoffs Wednesday at 7 p.m. on the road at Montebello, which tied for the Almont League title and earned the division’s No. 8 seeding.

Quarterfinal and semifinal games for boys and girls will be held next week, with championship games in all divisions scheduled between March 2-5. Championships in most divisions will be held at the Anaheim Arena, with the only exceptions being the 5AA, 5A, 6AA and 6A games, which will be contested at Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana.
