PossAbilities Triathlon, 5K Event Deemed Big Success

Between 800 to 900 athletes take part in the annual event.

Athletes of nearly all ages ran, biked and swam their way through Loma Linda on Sunday for the ninth annual Loma Linda University PossAbilites Triathlon. More than 800 athletes took part in the event, organizers said.

The event is supported by a $300,000 donation from the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians. The spring triathlon consists of a 3.1-mile run, an 11-mile bike ride, and a 150-yard swim in the Drayson Center pool. Some also participated in a 5K run, walk and roll.
