Redlands Keeps Playoff Hopes Alive

The Terriers handled Eisenhower as they head into Thursday's showdown against A.B. Miller. Redlands East Valley and Citrus Valley also clinch playoff berths, while Colton continues late season surge.

Playoff spots and league championships will be on the line next week for the four public high schools in and around Loma Linda.

Redlands put itself in position for a playoff berth by beating Eisenhower 35-15 in a Citrus Belt League game.

The Terriers (3-6 overall, 2-2 CBL) jumped out to a 28-0 lead early in the second quarter, and weathered a rough patch in the middle of the game to dispatch the Eagles (2-7, 0-4).

Redlands East Valley clinched its playoff berth with an easy victory over Fontana on Friday night. Meanwhile, Yucaipa held off A.B. Miller to set up the battle of the unbeatens for the league title, and likely a top seed in the CIF-Southern Section playoffs.

The game will be at 7 p.m. at Yucaipa High School.

Citrus Valley will also be playing for a league title on Thursday, as they will host Rubidoux in a Mountain Valley League game. The Blackhawks, who are in their first season with seniors, are 8-1 overall and 4-0 in league. Rubidoux is 7-2, 4-0.

The game will be at 7 p.m. at Citrus Valley.

Colton, which got off to a disasterous start to its season after its coach quit after the first game, has won three of its last four to get back into playoff contention. The Yellowjackets beat Pacific 42-33 Friday night.

The Yellowjackets (3-6, 3-3 in the San Andreas League) will have a chance to sneak into the playoffs with a win against San Gorgonio on Thursday. San Gorgonio is currently in fourth place in the eight-team league, with Colton only a game back. A Colton win will put the Yellowjackets into the playoffs.

The game is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Colton High.

A majority of games are scheduled for Thursday due to the Veterans Day holiday.
