Roadrunners Slow Start Continues
Loma Linda Academy's boys basketball team loses to Linefield and is now 0-4 this season.
Based on their records going into the Ambassador League opening game on Nov. 13, the Linfield Lions should have eaten the Loma Linda Academy Roadrunners for dinner.
They did.
The Lions entered the game with a record of 4-1 and held the home court advantage. The Roadrunners could excuse their 0-4 record by pleading they lost to much larger, public high schools at the Big Daddy Tournament.

LLA also could bank on senior forward Dante Thomson's playing for the first time following a fractured wrist suffered late in the football season. Thus, the game could have at least been competitive.
It wasn't and the Roadrunners ended up on the short end of a 70-46 drubbing. Linfield jumped off to a quick 9-0 lead in the first two minutes led by Dil Quenido draining a three pointer. By the end of the first quarter, the Lions held a 22-8 lead and never looked back.

LLA kept the margin close for the rest of the game, but could never cut into the lead as Keith Stewart, junior center, Dakota Jordan, junior forward and Chris Lawrence senior forward all got into foul trouble early.
Justin Im, junior shooting guard, led LLA with 12 points including two three pointers. Lawrence, despite playing limited minutes, contributed 10 points, 7 rebounds and 2 steals. Thomson dazzled the crowd with 3 dramatic steals. The Roadrunners again have a young team with 4 seniors and 8 juniors and will be expected to gel further as the season progresses. LLA (0-5, 0-1) will next travel to Western Christian on Thursday, Dec. 15.
