Tennis Squads Learn About Playoff Opponents

Both Redlands and Citrus Valley earn first round home games Thursday, while Redlands East Valley must play a wild card game at home Tuesday.

All three Redlands public schools will open the Ford CIF-Southern Section tennis playoffs with home games, but one will have to survive a wild card game to enter Thursday's first round.

Redlands, the top seed from the Citrus Belt League, will play the winner of one of Tuesday's nine wild card matches in Division 3. The Terriers will play the winner of a match between Hart and Oxnard at 2 p.m. Thursday.

Redlands East Valley will be a participant in another of the wild card matches Tuesday, as it will host Alhambra, the third place team from the Almont League. The winner of the game at Paramount on Thursday.

In the Division 5 tournament, Citrus Valley -- as the top seed from the Mountain Valley League -- earned a first-round game Thursday against a wild card opponent. Only first place representatives earned first round games in the bracket.

The Blackhawks will play the winner of Tuesday's match between Paloma Valley and Anaheim Magnolia. Undefeated Aquinas is the top seed in the division.

Championship games are scheduled for Nov. 21 at the Claremont Club in Claremont.
