Water Polo Squads Move to Semifinals
Citrus Valley and Redlands East Valley secure berths in Wednesday's matches with strong defensive efforts Saturday.
Citrus Valley's girls water polo team used a stifling defense and an opportunistic offense to knock out fourth-seeded Garden Grove 7-4 in the CIF-Southern Section Division 7 playoffs.
The Blackhawks advanced to Wednesday's semifinal round, which will be played at Costa Mesa High School. Citrus Valley will play top-seeded Santa Ana Valley High School, which beat Garden Grove Rancho Alamitos 13-2 Saturday.
The game is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m., immediately following the other semifinal game between Anaheim Savanna and Fountain Valley Los Amigos.

In Division 5, Redlands East Valley also used a stingy defense to knock off host Burbank Burroughs, 10-5. [PHOTO GALLERY]
The Wildcats will play in the second of two semifinal games scheduled at Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut. REV will face off against top-seeded Bonita, a 13-5 winner over Pasadena on Saturday.
