GALLERY: Rattlesnake Near Big Falls

A day after hard rains unleashed boulders, mud and logs in Mill Creek Canyon, a rattler was trying to catch rays near Big Falls.

Rattlesnakes are common in summer months in Mill Creek Canyon and on Saturday Aug. 18 one of them was trying to get some sun in the rocks near Big Falls.

It was the day after hard rains unleashed boulders, mud and logs in the wash, but that didn't keep visitors of all ages away from the Big Falls picnic area above Forest Falls.

A flash flood watch for Redlands, Loma Linda and the San Bernardino Mountains was downgraded to a flood advisory through Saturday evening. It had not rained hard in Mill Creek Canyon as of 4:30 p.m.
