The 8th Annual SBSD Mud Run, hosted and organized by the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department, took place Saturday morning May 19 at the sheriff's Training Center near Devore.

Residents of Loma Linda, Fontana, Rancho Cucamonga, Riverside, Yorba Linda and Anaheim were among hundreds of competitive and fun runners who took part.

Organizers said beforehand the goal of the 2012 SBSD Mud Run was to bring together members of the community with Southern California public safety personnel "for a fun day in the mud and sun."

Event proceeds go to local charities throughout the Inland Empire, organizers said.
