Loma Linda Peaks At 106, Warm in Redlands Too, Heat Thru Weekend

An excessive heat watch was issued Tuesday by the National Weather Service for Wednesday afternoon through Friday evening.

It was 106 degrees Fahrenheit just after 4 p.m. Tuesday in Loma Linda, and nearly as warm in Redlands, according to the National Weather Service.

That was slightly cooler than Monday, when a in Redlands matched the record for the date Aug. 6.

There was also a flash flood watch Tuesday afternoon in the mountains, and a flood advisory for the valley area including Redlands and Loma Linda, due to potential thunderstorm activity over the San Gorgonio high country.

An excessive heat watch was issued Tuesday afternoon for Wednesday afternoon through Friday evening.

"The combination of hot days and warm nights will make it difficult for those without air conditioning to keep cool," the Weather Service advised.

The all-time record high for Redlands was 114 on June 17 ,1917, Miguel Miller of the Weather Service said Monday.
