27th Annual Children’s Day at Loma Linda University Children's Hospital

More than 1,700 attended the free event Wednesday May 16 in Loma Linda, which was supported by volunteers and sponsors, a hospital spokeswoman said.

More than 1,700 children, teachers and family members came to Loma Linda University Children's Hospital for the insitution's 27th Annual Children's Day, officials announced Monday.

The free event for children featured a teddy bear and doll clinic, finger casting, vision screening and demonstrations that taught fire and water safety, hospital spokeswoman Briana Pastorino said in a statement.

The event was held  Wednesday May 16 and it was sponsored by and Jamba Juice.

"Loma Linda University Children's Hospital is our charity of choice, and Children’s Day is a really fun event for us that we look forward to every year," said Sue Shindle, marketing manager for Farmer Boys.

About 300 volunteers, including Farmer Boys' employees, hospital staff, and Loma Llinda University students helped coordinate the event, Pastorino said.

Loma Linda University Children's Hospital is the only dedicated children's hospital in San Bernardino, Riverside, Inyo and Mono counties.
