Police Fatally Shoot Man in Stolen Vehicle During Pursuit Near Loma Linda

Tremayne Marshawn Williams, 27, of Rialto, was pronounced dead at the scene in San Bernardino, the coroner reported. The officer-involved shooting occurred about 1:30 a.m. Wednesday.

A Rialto man in a stolen vehicle who allegedly rammed into Colton police cars in San Bernardino was fatally shot by at least one officer early Wednesday near Loma Linda, according to the coroner.

About 1:30 a.m. July 11, Colton police tried to stop a suspected stolen vehicle "but the driver failed to yield," the San Bernardino County coroner reported Thursday.

"The driver of the suspected stolen vehicle rammed the police cars and that resulted in an officer-involved shooting," the coroner reported. "The driver, Tremayne Marshawn Williams, a 27-year-old resident of Rialto, was pronounced dead at the scene on Mill Street near Meridian Avenue in the city of San Bernardino."

The neighborhood is west of Interstate 215 and north of Interstate 10, a few miles northwest of Loma Linda.

The San Bernardino County Sheriff's Homicide Division was investigating. An autopsy will be conducted later this week to determine the exact cause of death.
