VIDEO/PHOTOS: Forest Fest Volunteers

Organizers included the San Gorgonio Wilderness Association, the Wildlands Conservancy, and Forest Service Volunteers.

Live music, local artists and cross-cut saw demonstrations were part of the Forest Festival Saturday Aug. 18 at Barton Flats Visitor Center.

Volunteers with San Gorgonio Search-and-Rescue gave free vertical rides in a metal litter to illustrate a technique often used on steep slopes.

Barton Flats is about 30 miles northeast of Redlands and Loma Linda in the San Bernardino National Forest.

Hazardous Materials personnel with San Bernardino County Fire had a display set up to explain some of their work. Firefighters from Angelus Oaks also attended.
