Volunteers are planning a cleanup Saturday June 2 at Thurman Flats Picnic Area, 3.5 miles up Mill Creek Canyon from the Ranger Station at Bryant Street and Highway 38.
The San Gorgonio Wilderness Association is organizing the family-oriented event, which includes a "Childrens Cleanup" and the chance to meet Smokey Bear, organizers said.
"We will be having these cleanups the first Saturday of each month," Val Silva of the SGWA said in an email.
This Saturday's event is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Participants are asked to "please bring sturdy shoes, sunscreen, gloves and a smile."
