Red Flag Warning in Effect Until 6 PM

A red flag warning for dry winds and increased fire danger remained in effect until 6 p.m. Tuesday in the Inland Empire, the west San Gorgonio Pass and the mountains of San Bernardino County, according to the National Weather Service.

"Very dry conditions will continue to prevail across the Southland through this evening . . . with moderate to locally strong northeast to east winds gradually weakening through this evening," the Weather Service advised at 1 p.m. Nov. 5.

"These winds will continue with these very dry conditions to elevate the wildfire potential."

Sustained winds of 10 miles per hour to 20 mph were expected with gusts to 40 mph, and isolated gusts in some areas up to 50 mph, according to the Weather Service.

A wind advisory was in effect for the northeast Coachella Valley through 6 p.m., with sustained winds 15 mph to 30 mph and gusts to 45 mph.
