Built in 1933 under Franklin Roosevelt, this U.S. Post office was inducted as a historic landmark in 1985. The massive building towers over Brookside Avenue, with a grand staircase leading up to the giant doors. Inside, the dark interior is filled with P.O. Boxes, as well as a postal service counter that is open on weekdays. The lobby is open 24-hours for viewings and mailbox access. Employees are kind and accommodating, and boxes and other mailing accessories are available for purchase. Credit cards are accepted, and parking is free on the street.
